Some of Clarity’s collages that inspire us

“Breaking it apart” is a phrase that we’ve heard Su.Sane and Robert talk about for years and is one of our favorites from their Creative Life Series. Now, when we are exploring “breaking it apart” not just physically from large to small, but exploring how it is a change in perspective, a consciousness shift, in how we work with our everyday life.

We were talking with a friend over coffee and explored more of how we can break these big, impossible and overwhelming tasks down into smaller parts to make things less daunting and more manageable. For this friend for instance, she had a room full of unpacked boxes for years, untouched, and was realizing how amazing it would be if she transformed her storage room to a creativity room. Feeling the dread of needing months and months to get that done, we talked about how one box could be emptied each week. Even accompanied with a favorite tea and tea cup to sip on in between unpacking breaks or in between marveling with the delightful treasures, rediscovered.

Before we know it, it’s become not only a way to rediscover ourselves with all the old things that have become new again, but it’s a way of letting go of the old parts of us and stepping into the new parts of ourselves we want to grow into. That’s why autumn is such a great reminder to us all about letting go - the trees and leaves make it look so easy!

The art of letting go - autumn leaves show us how

Reducing density is another area/focus we are breaking apart right now - not necessarily about minimizing and getting rid of everything, but reducing the areas in our lives that feel dense. We have been realizing that this involves listening deeply enough to feel what patterns, what things, what choices, what situations have a lighter vibration for this time. This particular passage we are moving through together at this time has been offering all kinds of opportunities to discern the difference between what is lighter & what’s denser — what has ease & grace & holds a vibrant energy — and then being courageous enough to choose that thread.

We are in the process of moving our whole room around, which has been a huge adventure. When you live in Community, your room is like a whole world. There’s been lots of letting go and surrendering of the old familiar threads, clothing, routines, perspectives, jobs, furniture, etc that served us well over the years. Now, we recognize the density the old patterns feel to us at this point, which makes it easy to let go.

Trusting the new patterns, welcoming changes, and trusting the beautifully orchestrated plans that the Divine has for us - mostly with soft whispers and suggestions if we listen closely - surrounding us with a chance to feel the ease of the new, have things fall right into place and help us feel a lift and lightness. New patterns, a new room, a new space - holds so much potential, excitement, possibility, and opportunities for more creativity and expansiveness. When we keep breaking things down, the dream of having a creative space, a delicious reading corner with a cozy chair, a spot for yoga or musical instruments, doesn’t seem so far away.
